Converted Victorian Tea Warehouse, Named Best Aparthotel in London by The Telegraph

The Property

Native Bankside is a converted Victorian tea warehouse that retains original architectural features like exposed brickwork and concrete. The hotel has 80 apartments, a fitness suite with Peloton bikes, and a shared lounge and TV area. Strong Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, and a 24-hour front desk provides concierge service and luggage storage.

Rooms

The apartments offer spacious layouts with a full kitchen that includes a washing machine, dishwasher, and user-friendly appliances. Each room has air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, and a private bathroom with quality toiletries and a powerful shower. Daily housekeeping is provided, and rooms are set up for both family trips and business travel.

Location & Neighborhood

The hotel sits on a quiet street south of the Thames, a 2-minute walk from the Tate Modern and a 3-minute walk from Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. Borough Market is a 5-minute walk away, providing fresh food and dining options daily. London Bridge station is a 10-minute walk, and the Bankside Uber Boat pier is one block away for river transport across the city.

Family & Group Accommodations

The hotel offers one-bedroom suites and premium one-bedroom apartments that sleep up to four adults with a sofa bed in the living area. Some suites include two bathrooms, which is helpful for groups or families sharing the space. The in-room washer and dryer allow guests to pack light, and the kitchenette eliminates the need to eat out for every meal.

Amenities & Services

The hotel has a fitness centre with modern equipment including Peloton bikes, plus a lounge on the first floor with natural light for remote work. Guests have access to a common filtered water dispenser and a locked luggage storage room for early arrivals or late departures. The property is soundproofed, has key card access and CCTV, and accepts pets with prior arrangement.

Fantastic Bankside Stay!

convenient location well-equipped kitchen fresh towels seamless stay
I found the location convenient for accessing many attractions. Borough Market was a very short walk. The apartment contained a well-equipped kitchen, including a stovetop, microwave, and refrigerator. I also appreciated the availability of fresh towels daily. It was a very nice touch.
The lighting system in the room presented minor challenges. It took some time to learn the controls. But it didn't affect my experience too much!
Facilities
9/10
The hotel has an excellent gym with three treadmills and two stationary bikes available for guest use. There is also a laundry room equipped with washers and dryers, and detergent is provided, very convenient.
Service
9/10
The front desk operates 24/7, which I found reassuring. The staff was always available and helpful. The daily housekeeping service provided fresh towels and tidied up the room, contributing to a comfortable and stress-free experience.

Fantastic Stay in Bankside

ample space convenient location
The apartment was big enough for my family. There was plenty of closet space for our belongings. The location is convenient. It's close to transit options and Borough Market.
The light switches were overly complex. There was a panel with unlabelled buttons, so it was difficult to turn off the lights.
Location
10/10
The aparthotel is near many tourist spots and the metro. It is located in a vibrant area and many shops surround it. The proximity to Borough Market provides many dining options.
